Garage Door Cable Replacement
Your older door has springs along the tracks, and one cable has slipped off its pulley and dangles slack. The door lifts crooked and needs a shoulder to close, when it used to glide.
Garage Door Cable Replacement
Commercial sectional and rolling steel doors around Indian Point take thousands of cycles a year and the occasional knock from a forklift. We service them with heavy-duty springs, industrial operators and hardware chosen for the work they actually do, and we plan the visit around your opening hours.

2021 census · what it means at the door
47%Homes of every age
About 47% of homes in Burlington were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.
A mixed-age neighbourhood is where retrofits are most common: safety cables added to extension springs, a torsion conversion on an older door, insulated panels replacing a hollow door, or a quieter belt opener under a newly finished room above the garage. Each is a routine job for us.
50%
Single-detached houses make up about 50% of homes in Burlington (2021 Census).
Where houses and attached homes sit together, the shared garage door on a small condo building may be a commercial operator on a heavy door, while the house next door runs a light residential unit. We service both types and carry parts for each.
Garage door services
The list below is what a garage door technician in Indian Point actually does in a week: replaces springs and cables, resets doors that jumped the track, fixes and replaces openers, programs remotes and keypads, changes seals and rollers, tunes and balances doors, and installs new ones.

Garage Door Cable ReplacementYour older door has springs along the tracks, and one cable has slipped off its pulley and dangles slack.
Torsion Spring ReplacementOn a cold morning the remote does nothing useful: the light comes on, the motor turns briefly, the door stays shut.
Chain-Drive Opener RepairHalfway up, the door lurches.
Belt-Drive Opener RepairHalfway up, every single time, the door hesitates and there is a ratcheting sound from the motor head, then it carries on.
Garage Door Opener ReplacementThe remotes only work from the end of the driveway now, and one of them disappeared with a set of keys last month.
Photo-Eye Sensor Alignment or ReplacementThe door will only go down while a finger stays on the wall button; let go and it stops or reverses.
Smart Garage Controller SetupA contractor is coming to work in the garage on Thursday while you are away.
Full-View Glass Garage Door InstallationYour renovation has given the house clean modern lines, but the old raised-panel garage door now looks out of place.
New-Construction Garage Door InstallationFraming, siding, flooring and electrical crews are working from the same schedule.
Commercial Sectional Door RepairEach opening cycle brings a metallic knock followed by a shudder through the horizontal track.New Doors
When the old door comes down, everything that carried it goes with it: the tracks, the springs, the cables and the rollers. A new door on old hardware is a compromise, and we do not install that way.

Repairs
A door in good repair is quiet, closes flat against the floor and stays put wherever you stop it. When one of those three things changes, this is the category to look through for the likely cause and the fix.

A brand-new section beside sections that have weathered ten summers will look brighter, and it is worth knowing that before the order goes in. Paint fades gradually on the existing sections, but the new one does not reliably converge with them, and a visible difference can remain for good.
1 of 3
Grinding, slow climbing, a door that reverses: the symptom points to the part. We take it down and plan the visit around it.
2 of 3
We measure the door's weight and the existing spring, test the opener's force settings and check sensor alignment before recommending anything.

When the work is done, you see the door run, learn what was replaced and get a few pointers for keeping it in shape.
It is better to leave the door where it is and use another way in and out. Running the opener against a crooked or cable-slack door tends to tangle the cable further, twist the top section and knock the door out of its track, which adds to the repair. Pull nothing and adjust nothing; simply keep the opening clear and let the technician take it from there.
It helps to have someone present to open the garage, point out anything you noticed and hear how the door should feel afterwards. The technician needs power at the opener outlet, clear space under the shaft for a ladder, and access to both sides of the door. If a vehicle is inside, it stays until the door is working. Being there also lets you approve any extra items, such as bearings or cables, as they come up.
Force is set to the lightest level that moves the door reliably, and it is raised only a little for a cold garage. Turning it up further to overcome a heavy door or a seal frozen to the slab is not done, because too much force interferes with the safety reversal and can bend the top section. If the door is hard to move in the cold, the springs, rollers or the frozen seal are dealt with instead.
No. The belt is meant to run clean and dry; oils and sprays soften the rubber and gather grit in the teeth, which wears the sprocket. Lubricant belongs on the door instead: hinges, rollers and springs get a garage-door lubricant once a year. The gear inside the motor head takes a light grease when it is serviced, and that is the technician's job.
Manufacturers recommend replacing units made before 1993, since most lacked external entrapment protection such as a photo-eye pair, a sensing edge or a constant-contact close control. Identify the model rather than guessing its age or remote type, since a fixed-code remote with small switches is not proof by itself. Replacing rather than repairing brings the sensor beam, a contact-sensitive force setting, remotes whose code changes on every press and a console lock button.
